Day 3, Xi Men Ding District 西门町

Chose to go Xi Men Ding (西门町) on the last day to indulge in food, shopping and entertainment! Took the metro till Xi Men Station. (西门站)

Shops and more shops everywhere

Bustling streets!
P.S. those people holding signboards and standing in the middle of the streets are actually hired to advertise shops!

A place where there is a myriad of activities! This depicts students from a university working on their Final Year Paper presentation, which is in the form of outdoor radio broadcasting!

Xi Men Ding is an awesome place for shopping! Enough said :)

SuperDuperMegaTallHuge Icecream!

This is Taiwan's authentic Koi Bubble Tea!!
Flavours recommended: Pudding Milk Tea 布丁奶茶/ Milk tea with pearls 珍珠奶茶!

P.S. Bubble Tea in Taipei is healthier in a sense that you are entitled to choose the sugar (甜度) & ice levels (冰块) for your drink!

Toilet-themed restaurant! Where toilet bowls are seats & also your serving utensils... & not to forget, food comes in the shape of poo...

Last but not least...
A MUST-TRY IN XI MEN DING!

A ZONG MIAN XIAN 阿宗面线

This is actually vermicelli with pig intestines! (大肠面线) The vermicelli is really well-cooked, & the intestines give a nice chewy texture. To top it off, the broth is absolutely yummylicious!

So glad I ate this right before I left Taipei! :)

A random thing to note in Taipei!

Receipts (these are called 发票 in Chinese) like these are given in most stores, & there's a receipt number behind each and every receipt! Every month, there will be a lucky draw & should your receipt number match that of the winning number, you get to win money!

Thus, there are charity movements which encourage people to donate their receipts as well, and the prize money will be donated to those who need it :) Awesome movement I would say! (Yes, I donated all my receipts at the end of the trip :D)

Note: Expenses are always calculated for 2 people

Train fare from Zhong Xiao Xin Sheng to Xi Men Ding = 16/pax x 2
= 32 NTD

Food for 2 of us at Xi Men Ding = 阿宗面线 (big bowl) 60 + 珍珠奶茶 45
= 105 NTD

Train fare from Xi Men Ding to Zhong Xiao Xin Sheng = 16/pax x 2
