Day 2, National Palace Museum 国立故宫博物院
From Tamsui, we had to take the metro till Shi Lin Station (士林站) and then take a bus in order to go to the museum.

Do take note of this when you board the bus, as some bus services require you to pay when you board, while others to pay when you alight! Bus fares can be paid by easycard or cash.
We finally arrive at the museum!
It's really really huge, & the scenery is magnificent. You gotta be there to experience the 'grandness' of it! In addition, the museum holds more than 600,000 objects.
A garden (Zhi Shan Yuan) that is also free to enter for those holding museum passes

The familiar stone lion, & interestingly designed rubbish bins!

The long flight of stairs we had to climb before reaching the main entrance of the museum

Night two, Shi Lin Night Market 士林夜市
On the second night, we headed to Shi Lin Night Market which is located right beside Jian Tan Station (剑潭)!

Hordes of people at Shi Lin Night Market
Below I will be introducing some of the most famous food in Shi Lin! It's so famous that you've probably heard about it even though you've never been to Taipei!
1. 豪大大鸡排 Hot-star Large Fried Chicken

omg, the serving is ULTRA HEEEUUUGEEEEEE. and SUPER YUMMY of course!
2. 蛋蜜汁 Honey Egg Juice
This is basically a honey-flavoured juice with an egg in it... sounds disgusting? But you can't taste the egg at all! & in fact it tastes absolutely awesome :)
3. 大饼包小饼
As featured on TV! Basically they mash up one of this...
Then wrap the mashed up stuff inside a popiah skin!
4. 青蛙下蛋 Frog Eggs
Do not be deceived by the name! It is most definitely not frog's eggs!
You can choose from a variety of combinations... but i would recommend 粉圆(mini pearls/tapioca balls) +爱玉 (jelly-like pudding)! By now, you should have guessed that the frog eggs actually refer to the mini pearls in the drink!
4. 蚝仔煎 Fried Oyster Omelette
The dish is basically an omelette with lots of small oysters! Starch is mixed into the egg batter, resulting in a thicker egg wrap! I would recommend to dip into the sweet sauce provided, it brings out the flava'! :D
And a pretty awesome pic of Shi Lin to end this post... :)
